As an Integrative Counsellor my core training incorporated a number of therapeutic models. This enables us to be flexible during our work together to find the best way for you. The relationship between counsellor and client is often seen as the most important part of the work. We will spend some time building our relationship together so you feel able to explore and examine your world in a safe and supportive environment, free from judgement and expectations. If appropriate I may invite you to continuing to explore outside of sessions with home tasks, this could be with recommended reading or some visual or audio work that will complement the work we have started.
Counselling and Psychotherpay can help for a broad range of issues, including:
Anxiety and Depression
Stress - personal and work related
Grief and Bereavement
Life change ie Retirement, Redundancy, loss
Relationship and Sexual difficulties - including Intimacy
Self-esteem and Confidence
(This list is not exhaustive)
What Benefits can be Expected?
The benefits of counselling can include a greater degree of self-awareness and a better understanding of yourself and those around you. Improved self-esteem, allows us to be more reflective as an individual and with those we are in relationships with. Having a space to freely feel and think, without worrying about your impact on others, allows development to a greater understanding of your world. With more information about who you are and how you have developed, the easier it gradually becomes to navigate your way through any difficulties you are facing, resulting in a feeling of acceptance for your whole person.
